Dear Mr. Beebe:
This is in response to the articli
"Birth control - evident factor'

in the February 8 issue of The

Knowing that The Gamecoci

article (not to mention an ad

downgrade abortions. However
this is exactly what you ac
complished with Jerry
Calabrese's article and Bob Craft's
column.

"I'm tired of paying those boys'
parking tickets," he said.
Vice-president Harried Blunton
said that the increased rates are
needed "bif we are ever going to pay

Blunton added that the parking
garage, scheduled for completion
in 1972, will be completed by 1975.
"We are actually ahead of

immediately, all car-owners must
pay $6 to park in that lot. One
student who told administrators
that he would not pay unless his
car was protected was taken out
and shot.
The new rules also state thpt the
Coliseum. lot must be cleared by
4:30 p.m. on the evening of a
Coliseum event.
"After all," commented one
official," we can't expect those
people that we rent the lot to to

during the night and on weekends,
but I don't see the purpose of
locking all the doors during the
business day.
The management of the Russell
House is respectfully reminded of
that opera house fire disaster in
France a few years ago. Unless
there Is a plot in the air to execute
all of the USC student body, I think
the matter should be locked into. I
would hate to see the management
and their secretaries stuck on the
fourth floor in the event of an
emergency.

Mr. Hope
Dear Mr. Beebe:
Mr. Harry Hope's article of
I"ebruary 15 entitled, "Mrs. Jones'
diary", has exceeded any inanity
this paper has published to date.
Humor, (jest, ridicule), Is best
expressed in a subtle restrained
fashion. Byron Herbert wrote:

lest In the jest
Thy persons share, and the
conceit advance,
Make not thy sport abuses; for

Apparently Mr. Hopie is veieored

Meanwhile, cars continued to
pile up on busy Spleen Street as
the official count of all vehicles at
the school numbers 17,960.
Number of parking spaces is 722.
Columbia city officials stated
that they, too, would raise meter
rates in accordance with the
school's rate hike.
"Inflation," said another of

were also enacted. Beginning

Even the statement itself -
whether or not appropriate here
is not factual. data is available that
states these "emotional pangs," if
they exist at all, cannot be totally
erased.
As for Bob Craft's column
"Abortion referral services,"
again I am surprised at the tone.
Why the melodramatic dialogure?
And, as if that weren't enough,
why the "bad boy" ending? It
seems to me that' the subject of
abortion calls for a more mature
approach.
As it is not my policy to criticize
without offering an alternative,
may I suggest a future article
devoted to abortion. Let this ar
ticle concern itself with facts- the
explanation of available
techniques and of the differeni
types of clinics operating- all in a
simple and explicit manner
designed to better inform con
cerned students.

DerMr. Beebe:
Among the plethora of problems
that beset the Russell House, there
is yet another which has recently
arisen.1!hat problem is the locking
of all tile tlterior doors to the
stairwells of the Russell House. I
can see where such a move could
