At the 1 Love N byJ So you meet this simple girl and she's nice to you so you ask her out. You like the way she treats you so pretty soon you're going steady. She says she wants to love you an4 hug you, have your children and take care of you, you know, take care of you, so pretty soon you're engaged. All the ususal steps take place, like marriage, three hundred thousand feet of home movie film from the honeymoon in Hawaii, and a cozy little apartment to start '. in. Sooner than you think there's a little one on the way and your medical practice is suc ceeding. Then the lovable little thing you married becomes your mother. She gains forty pounds and is more concerned with taking care of you than "taking care of you." Sound like a real life situation? It is; only it's been filmed, and they call it "I Love My Wife," starring Elliot Gould and Brenda Vaccaro. "I Love My Wife" is a very funny movie. It is also a very sad movie, and on top of that; it is a very scary' movie. "I Love My Wife" is all of: these, but most of all it is a very, real movie. Remember when we were all crying for realism in the cinema? Well, it's here now and a lot of people are crying because it's too danin real. "I Love My Wife" could just as easily be titled "I Love Your Wife." It's' 'the story of a nouveau riche doctor who outgrows his frumpy spouse and seeks fulfillment elsewhere; and does he get fulfilled. He gets full of all the things he thinks he wants and even the things he can't make up his mind. Unable to leave his wife and two children, Gould looses his consort who demands that he leave his family and eventually looses his, family too. "I Love My Wife" is many things. It is a very, very good film for one thing, but for another it is the rebirth of Elliot Gould. Gould, after a smashing start in pictures, seemed to settle down to playing in bad films. While he always managed to come out looking good, 'his choice of scripts was terrible. "I Love My Wife" is a welcome catharsis. It is a picture of real worth, exploring a genuine roblem of today. It gives the subject fair and honest coverage and yet remains light and warmly human. See it. While they are not a motion picture, some people think they are quite a movie. The basis of this refusal was the fact that APO has two black members. The Elk's Club does not admit Negroes into its building. The fraternity was to have held its "Sweetheart Ball" in the Elk's Ballroom, but has now made arrangements in near-by Montgomery. Also at Auburn, a recent poll Indicates that the top five groups at Auburn are Chicago: The Fifth Dimension; Blood, Sweat and Tears; Neil Diamond and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. UNIVERSITY . OF DELAWARE The UD Review reported an attack on its Phoenix Hall just before Christmas. The Hall, which also serves as a graduate students dormitory, has been the center of Leftist activity in the past few years. After the attack, literature was found which intimated that the attack was politically motivated. A "Support Your Local Police" sign was hung on the wall, and a piece of literature reading, "The Courts have tied the hands of the Police, but not our hands," was found. Also at UD, "Dubious Distinction Awards" were presented and Spiro Agnew came down with the "Up With Students Award." MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY The Marquette Tribune reported the most outrageous thing just before Thanksgiving. One Residence Hall, bored to death with the prospect of a dull week end, challenged another Residence Hall in football. They started Friday morning at 10:00 and played through rain, sleet, wind, sub-freezing temperatures until Sunday night at 8. That's 82 hours of straight football, sports fans, and they claim the record. They can have it. Unless somebody here wants to challenge them. In the course of the event, $1,100 were raised for Toys for Tots through the sale of shirts and other trivia. Most of the participants played for two to four hours. PTIST CHURCH Dr. E.C. This, McFadden said, would help the draft board get a better viewpoint from the youth. Tbey also agreed with others on a uniform national call whereby registrants with the same random sequence number would be called at the same time regardless of local board. For example, Cinhoun County had the lowest nvber called in the state at 147. 4W counties, h as Richland, hdie highest - Another proposal th) m mittees favored was that drawings be held for more than year at a time so that young who graduate from high school age 18 will be aware of their random sequence numbers and can make a more Judicious decision regarding their futures. "We have achieved better communications with the seleetive service. We are helping our peers not as students, but as yoUn people," McFadden said. "We're trying to make it easier for those affected by the draft." McFadden said he hoped to meet with Gov.-elect West after his installation on the possibility of having youth representation on the draft board. "We want youth there to represent us. We want to let him (West) know we're here, and ask him to help us aid youth in general, by allowing us to fill draft board vacancies," McFadden added. 'Te S.C. committee is composed of 13 members from throughout the state, representing different colleges and groups. McFadden said anyone wanting to express opinions or ideas should contact' him before the next meeting, Feb. ii. His telephone number is 8794.
