In the end USC had to rely on veteran Bobby Cremins' big steal, strong boy John Robock's rebcond tap to John Roche after the missed foul shot and two of Roche's biggest free throws in his illustrious career to 'stop the gallant Clemson effort. Bobby Roberts will not be around next year. He has to retire after eight years at the Tigers helm. In the eight years Roberts had only three winning seasons. His record at. Clemson is not a winning one. He has lost 116 games while winning only 82.
