Marr, doctoi Marriages do not just happen, they are made, Dr. Kenneth Morris told a meeting of the Carolina Wives Club last week. He told the group that one of four marriages today end up in a divorce. Morris pointed out that "Enthusiam, determination and commitments contribute toward a good marriage." The two main reasons for marriage failures, he said, are selfishness and immaturity. "Many young marriages cannot survive because individuals are *ot emotionally mature enough to ace the problems wihich arise. "The partners must learn to grow up so that they can solve their problems," he said. Other difficulties that one must adjusts to in marriage, Morris said, are sexual relationships, finances, social activities and mutual friends. 00 "All these difficulties relate to a breakdown in communications. Some couples cannot discuss their problems. Some also have trouble interpreting what they say to each other," he continued. Palamara, an 18-year-old USC student, on drug charges Monday night. The arrest was made in Palamara's room in the Bates House. According to George Key, director of Campus Security, two city detectives entered Palamara's room and arrested him for possession of marijuana and pills. Palamara has been released on $3,000 bail, it was reported. Det. Capt. Harry T. Snipes was unavailable for comment Tuesday night. STUDENT ASSAULTED Peter D. Reed was held ovei - night at the campus infirmary Monday for observation after reporting that he had been assaulted. Reed said he and his date were at College and Pickens streets when he was asked by two youths if he was a hippie. Reed said "yes" and attempted to walk away. Reed told campus security forces that the youths asked the couple to stop and they did. He was then hit over the head with the handle section of a pool cue stick, he said. He took his date to Cap stone and called campus security. Security officers have arrested John H. Dreher and Allen Gaines, both 18, of Columbia and have charged them with simple assault.
