The swimmers began with a week of "land work" to get the soreness out and to get into condition before starting workouts in the pool. The diving team has been number one in the ACC for the last three years and is expected to repeat again this year, but N.C. State Will be a stronger threat than in the past. The experience of John Thoder and Mike Mayfield in NCAA National Finals should anchor the diving team, with freshman Gary Wetherhold a welcome addition to the team.
