al board plan has been live in Bates House are
notead, students who automatically on the board plan
and other students have the option
of paying cash or buying
discounted coupon books.
A single book is available for $49
or a five per cent discount while
the group of four is available for
$188 or a 10 per cent discount.
According to William Wentz,
director of USC's dining services
the coupons may be used in any
campus food service facility.
Students living in Bates House
may use their board card in any
other facility for lunch but can only
ea t in his dorm for the other meals.
Wentz said that dining facilities
would vary according to their
location on campus.
o fashion Russell House cafeteria and the
Gamecock Room will be open
gins with seven days. Facilities in Columbia
Hall will only be open Monday
4HW0RK through Friday as will those in
Capstone.
SUEDE M & N will have regular services
during the week but will be con
be the souciest fined to a snack-bar system on
;hion for fall, it weelends. There will also be a
rich tones of "featured special" for each
olds, and pos- weekend meal, for example a
and skirt sizes S. fried chicken or spaghetti dinner.
iet is only South Building will also have a
snack bar type system but will
28. offer a larger number of featured
specials on weekends. Wentz
stressed that these systems have
been worked out from the past use
of each cafeteria on weekends.
Each system is designed to
utilize the dining facilities with
greatest efficiency.
Bates House will have a few
extra features. There will be
almost continuous food service
from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In addition to
this, Monday through Thursday
nights snacks will be available
from 10 to 11 p.m. But this night
snack will only be given to Bates
House residents. Other meals in
Bates House are open to any
student.
Wentz added that a vending
machine operation is being con
sidered in Russell House. Such an
operation would help relieve
congestion during rush periods.
The operation would contain hot
and cold food machines and a
micro-wave oven.
The administration is reviewing
this idea now and is, according to
lowntown Wentz, discussing the type of
ichland Mall machines needed, trying to
discover student opinion on this
idea, and to decide when such an
operation should be opened.
