At the banquet, Johnny Gregory was awarded the trophy for the team captain, and Benny Galloway received a trophy as alternate cap tain. The varsity academic award win ner was Tony Fusaro who was on his honeymoon and m i s s e d the banquet. Tyler Ilellams, whose punt re turn gave Carolina the winning edge in the Clemson game, was honored for his scholastic achieve ments as a freshman last year. Coach P a u I )ietzel, who had been given the game ball for the Clemson game by captain Gregory, gave a second game ball to the sen ior split end.
