Picture yourself as a senior on
the N. C. State squad.
It is Saturday night and you're
stepping out into Carter Stadium
for your first game before the
home crowd as a senior.
Your team's record is two con
ference wins and two non-confer

The N. C. State players will be
fighting for more than revenge
and their top spot in the ACC
when they meet USC Saturday.
The State player who, in thc
judgment of the working press at
tomorrow's game, has played the
best game against the Gam~cocks,
will be awarded the D)ick Christie
Award.
This award was instituted in
1966 in honor of the late Dick
Christie.
Christie, an All-American on the
Wolfpack's 1957 ACC champion
ship team, was killed in an auto

Christie had his )est (lay as a
State player in the Wolfpack's
29-26 victory over Carolina that
year.
He scored all of State's points
in that game, his final three points
coming on a 46-yard field goal
after the final gun had sounded.
The first recipient of the awardl
was Gary Rowe. The award was
not given last year as State and
Carolina did not play in '67.
It was in that game in '66 that
Biobby Bryant went 98 yards for
a TD on a punt return for the

There are 17 seniors on the N. C.
State team, and they'll be out for
revenge. They will also be out to
keep hold of their standing at the
top of the ACC.
'Ie 1968 Wolfpack is a typical
State team. 'Iey are going to play
good, honest, hard-nosed football.
They will come at the Game
cocks In a variety of sets, but will
use only a small number of well
executed plays.
Senior Jack Klebe will be han

homecoming.
Klebe has completed 31 of 69
passes for 352 yards and three
TD's. He has also run for a net
of 173 yards.
Charlie Bowers and Bobby Hall
will see a lot of action carrying the
ball. Both have rushed for a com
bined total of nearly 400 yards.
Hall and Bowers have been jacks
of all trades. In addition to his
running, Bowers has caught five
passes for 55 yards and Hall has
caught nine for 109 yards.
Hall has also been on the throw
ing end of two passes. One was
intercepted, but the other one went
for a TD.
Hall and Bowers also return
kickoffs and have a combined aver
age of 22.8 yards per return.

Team captains for tomorrow's
game at N. C. State are Benny
Galloway and Roy Don Reeves.
Reeves, representing the defen
sive unit, turned in a stellar per
formance last S a t u r d a y night
against the Georgia Bulldogs.
The defensive back from Ameri
cus, Ga. snared two Mike Cavan
passes and ran them back for a
total of 72 yards.
A senior majoring In marketing,
he has made e i g h t individual
tackles and has been credited with
five aNsists.
In his career with the Game
cocks, Reeves has pla';ed all posi
tions in the defensive secondary
and has also seen duty on the of
fensive unit as a split end and
as a halfback.
Last year he rushed 48 yards
in nine carries and caught nine
passes for 119 yards.
Galloway is a two-letter senior
who will be filling in at fulback
tomorrow for the injured Warren
Muir.
He was an All-ACC defensive
back in '66, but missed last year
because of a knee injury.
In '65 he led the conference In
kickoff returns.
For his career the back from
Easley has picked up 714 yards
on the ground and 096 yards in
passes caught.
Galloway has seen little action
this year due to an ankle injury
which he aggravated during the
UNC game.
Coach Paul Dietzel decided not
to risk re-in juring him a g a i n
against G e o r g I a, and Galloway
played only as a blocker on a few
plays.
A healthy Galloway would he of
great help in filling the gap left
by the absence of Warren Muir.
