Dr. John L. Safko, physics professor and obser'vatory' director, reports that a star magnitude device to measure star brightness will be added this year. Although viewing from the ob Iservatory is limited by the lighted 1;skyline of Columbia, Dr. S a f k o t feels that the building is well equipped for its present uses. It is not utilized for serious re search, but mainly as an under graduate teaching tool with somec serviceability on the graduate level.
