Although USC t o ok most of the scrums from their rivals, Schwandt rarely had enough time to get the ball out to his backs, as the Atlanta wing for wards swarmed all over him. Schwandt also absorbed a per fectly legal kick in the stomach for his troubles, and, was forced out of the game for about six minutes of the second half with somewhat hampered walking, standing, and breathing. Football Practices To Begin About 85 candidates will report to Head Coach Paul Dietzel and his staff Saturday to open spring football practice at the University. The Gamecocks will practice Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with the Garnet and Black spring intra-squad game scheduled at Carolina Stadium on Friday, Nay 10. The third annual Gamecock Spring Coaches Clinic will be held April 19.
