"Relevance of Chris tianity in a Secular World" and "Christ Is Born-or God Is Dead?" were the programs. Addresses Dr. Hans II. Jaffe, head of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati, addressed the South Carolina Section of the American Chemical Society Dec. 5 in Russell House on "Acid-Base and Tautomeric Equilibria in Excited States." * * * "Some Problems in the Rheology (study of flow and deformation) of Blood in Health in Disease" were discussed Dec. 5 in the Physi cal Sciences Center by Dr. Melvin 11. Knisely, head of the Depart ment of Anatomy at the Medical College of S. C. It was the second program in the USC lecture series on bioen gineering. O'Connor, a post doctorate research assoc., was guest lecturer Dec. 8 at a chemistry seminar. Meetings "The Apoteosis of Chairman Mao: Dynamics of the Hero Cult in the Chinese System, 1949-67" is the subject of a paper presented in Washington, I). C., Nov. 22, by James T. Myers before the Inter University Research Colloquium on Modern China at George Washing ton University. Myers, an instructor of Political Science and International Studies at the University, discussed the impact of the glorification of Chi nese Communist leader or Mao Tse-tung.
