Asking a submission to "the glory of being a plain, old-fash oned, loving woman," Kniskern ad written: "Every time I look up from a )ook and see a girl in a thigh iigh skirt and skin-tight sweater, vith bleached hair, holding a ialf-burnt cigarette (that has not ouched her lips), as she casually Tazes over the boys passing by, [ shake my head at the feeble rguments which favor a college ducation for women." Coeds ranging from freshmen .o married graduate students re ;ponded with a deluge of letters o the State News. Even a few nales joined the attack. Many analyzed Kniskern's mo ives.
