Bulldog guard .Jimmy Cooley fell on halfback Ben Garnto's fumble at USC's 36-yard line to set the stage for the game-winning score. With the temperature at 55-de grees, a chilled crowd of 30,141 looked on as Georgia's flashy. quarterback Kirby Moore slipped around right end to score from six yards out and give the Bulldogs their third victory of the season. Bob E-tter kicked the extra point to round out the game's scoring. Playing their finest defensive game of the young season, thei Gamecocks were able to contain the Bulldogs throughout the first three quarters despite the great performance of Moore. Moore, running like a fulliback at times, kept the Gamecocks' de fense scrambling throughout the evening as he rolled up 115 of thE 247 yards ground out by Georgia's )ffense. The Gamecocks opened the game with an explosive start as they drove inside the Bulldogs 10-yard line in just six plays after Benny Galloway returned bhe opening kickoff to the USC 30.
