Dean Cooper also explained open rush, which is slate(d to Iegin Mon day and end Nov. .1. Male students who did not participate in regular rush can enter open rush by pay ing a $2.00 fee at Dean Cooper's office. RUSIH UNDERWAY Rush Week actually got under way with open houses Thursday and Friday, followed by stag smok ers Saturday and Sunday. Off campus activities began Monday night and by Thursday night each of the 14 fraternities had held their parties. This year, for the first time, the large group of rushees was divided, with half visiting the fraternity houses Thursday night and the other half Friday night. However, only two hours wer'e allotted for visiting the first two nights and the large lines in front of each house made it difficult to get cards stamped by all 1-1 fra ternities. IANG LINES Similarly, long lines prevailed Saturday afternoon when rushees thr*onlged the Russell louse trying to pick up their invitations. liy Sun day afternoon, however, the number of rushees had dwindled and the long ln s disappeared. The inlcreaseo1d number of rushees was attriliutehd to the general in orease in university enrollment and ,o the :omwhat higher average vrades ofl entering freshimen and upperlassmen.
