QUESTION: To be a great Uni

which comes from raising the
pressing questions of our day.
This sort of ferment seems to

The new USC "Ci4e of Student

into effect May 4, following final
approval by the University fac
ulty.
Under the new code infractions
of academic rules will be dealt
with in the college or school where
the infraction occurred. Thus,
were an Arts and Science major
to be accused of an infraction in
a business course, he would be
tried before the coimittee in the
College of Business Administra

Each school or college will have
a Committee on Student Academic
iesponsibilitys. Each Committee
will consist of three faculty mem
hers and tw%o student members.
The faculty members will be
elected by the faculty of the col
lege or the school in the fall. The
student members will be selected
by students in their respective
schools, probably during freshman
elections next fall.
Terms for faculty members will
be three years and those for stu
dents will Ibe one year.
Each committee is to make ad
ditional ruls concerning academilC
infractions as it deems neeSsarv.
Such questions as to whether a
class would operate under the
prctor system (or the honor sys
temi would he left up to the re
-pective colmllittA-es.
