Terry Price, who created this column last year and then gra ciously relinquished the title for $.75 and a bottle of old rotgut, is now official New Jersey corres pondent for Locker Talk. Mr. Price hadn't been too dili gent with his new job, so last week we fired off a letter to him to get him going. Terry responded with some juicy information on where the East's top high school basket ball seniors plan to attend college. This is of paramount impor tance, because the East invariably produces the finest high school players in the land. It appears that the ACC will get a few of :hese prize plums. USC's Frank McGuire seems to have 6-foot 11-inch Bob Leinhard of Rice High School in New York City already on the hook. How ever, McGuire will have to battle former assistant Dean Smith and North Carolina for 6-foot-5 Skip Kirtz, a Dieruff High sensation from Allentown, Pa. Duke's Vie Bubas haq his re oruiting apparatus operating at full capacity and has a chance to and three of the East's best. Mike e rue < I~ Locker Talk - JOHN LOTTICH - Wilkes, a 6-6 forward from Dallas, Pa., has narrowed his choice down to Duke, Princeton, and Johns Hopkins. A few years ago, some body named Bill Bradley had to choose between Duke and Prince-! ton. This past season, Wilkesl scored 72 points in one game. The other two players who might end up at Durham are Bill Buck (6-5) from Fountain Hill, Pa., and Bob Seemes (6-7) from Cocoa, Fla.
