USC Opens New Fields For Sports USC officials will open the new intramural fields Wednesday, Oct. 3, which are located below llos som St., near the tennis courts. Director of Intramurals Weems 0. Baskin announced intramural football begins Wednesday when two fraternity and two independ ent teams will compete. All managers and athletic chair men are reminded to complete their eligibility forms and leave them at the Intramural Office, located under the married students apart ments on the west end nearest Fraternity Row. The office is open Monday through Friday 2-5:30. -p o 14 Director Announc Ed Hendrickson, director of the Student Union, has announced the policy for reserving meeting roons in the Russell House for the year 1965-66. The Assembly Room will be reserved on Thursdays during the Fall term and on Thursdays and Saturdays during the Spring term for the purpose of showing the Student Union movies. USC student, faculty, and staff oriented organizations will be given preference in the scheduling of Russell House meeting rooms as established by the Student Union Committee. Because of the great demand placed on our rooms and staff, the following regulations. will be initi. ated for the coming school year. Ti Gamecock in the past has also encouraged student support of this music festival as well as the U n i v e r s i t y Artist Series. However, we find this year that the first performances in both series are to take place on the same night, which is November 10. 191bG5. Although we realize that these performances are scheduled well in advance, would it not have been possible for the Artist Series Committee to collaborate with the Music Festival Committee to prevent such cultural impedi mients from occurring? Any group not in appearance within 15 minutes after their scheduled meeting time will be said to have forfeited their re served room for that (lay. Each room will be vacated 10 minutes before the hour or half hour on which the scheduled meet ing was to end. This is necessary to insure that the room is ready for the next group. Reservation forms are now avai able at the Information Desk in the Russell House. Be sure of the day and time before booking any rooms as reser vations once made will not he changed, the director urged. Due to the limited space avail able and the unlimited demands on the building, reservations will be made on a first conic, first served basis, he added.
