Schedule
For Rush
Announced
A new fall rush schedule has
been announced by the Carolina
Pan-Hellenic Council in order to
avoid the commonplace clash be
tween formal rush and other
campus activities.
In the new schedule, rush will
be over before hour quizzes start,
and rushees will therefore have
more time for study.
The reason for rush is to enable
girls to chose what sorority they
want and help the sororities chose
the girls they want to pledge.
Many facets of sorority life are
introduced to rushees during this
time.
Fall rush is schedule( as fol
lows:
September 16 - Any continuing
woman student who wants to go
out for rush will conic to school.
September 19 - Campus - wide
drop-in in each sorority room.
September 21 - Pan - Hellenic
Coke party. A fter a general dis
cussion girls will split up into
groups and go to separate rooms
where they can ask questions. This
is the last day to sign up for rush.
September 23 and 24 - Routine
teas in the sorority rooms.
September 26--Preferential teas.
September 28, 211, and 30-First
round of preferential parties.
October 6 - Last night party.
October 7 - Bids will be given
out.

Miss Henderson will graduate

an HA degree in journalism. She

ity, press club, and Gamecock
staff. She was also chosen a
varsity cheerleader.
She holds the titles of "Miss
Football USA," Miss Columbia,
Miss Neptune, and first runner-up
to Miss South Carolina.

and education to teach high school
after graduation. She was selected
t at the recent Sigma Chi Sweet,
heart weekend in Charleston.
n It was in the spring of 1911 that
two freshmen at Albion College,
s Byron D. Stokes, and F. Dud
leigh Vernor, wrote the words ai,d
music for a song they called "The
Sweetheart of Sigma Chi." The
a song made a hit with their fra
- ternity brothers, and requests for
copies were ordered from other
chapters. Within a few years the
O song and lyrics had become fa
miliar to people around the world.
