A survey of establishments in
the Columbia area to see which
are equipped to handle and serve
the handicapped is currently being
conducted by a Carolina profes
sional fraternity.
Conducting the survey of 152
establishments as a service proj
ect is Delta Sigma Pi professional
commerce and business adminis
tration fraternity.
The purpose of the inquiry is to
provide information to compile a
book to be given to handicapped
individuals in the Columbia area.
This booklet will provide informa
tion so that a handicapped in
dividual will know whether he car
safely enter into any given estab
lishment which is listed in the
booklet.
Kickoff for the survey was held
March 15 with Dr. Thomas Stein
of Chicago, an expert on archi
tural barriers, briefing frater

3erman club, will hold its weekly meeting Thursday evening at 8, in
Room 101 of the Russell House. The program will be the learning of
Jerman folk songs and will be led by Riner Klingenschmitt, instructor
in the Department of Foreign Languages.
PROF. WARREN GIESE, head of the Department of Physical Educa
tio at Carolina, is attending the national convention of the Americat
Association of Health, Phytdcal FAucation and Recreation in Dallas, Tex.
Professor Giese is chaintan of the Fall Sports Section of the convention.
GIRLS INTERESTED in going out for Angel Flight rush may
obtain applications in their dormitories or at Russell House Informa
tion Desk. To be eligible, a girl must be at le:t a second semester
freshman and have a cumulative g.p.r. of 2.5. The deadline for
applications is April 3.
Interviews are set for April 6, 7 and 8. Applications must be

COLONEL CORNELIUS M. SMITH, JR., professor of Aerospace
Studies, has announced the cumulative g.p.r.s of Angel Flight and
Arnold Air Society for the 1964 fall semester.
Arnold Air Society, composed of outstanding Air Force ROTC cadets,
compiled a 2.895 semester g.p.r. and a cumulative g.p.r. of 2.897. The
group was led by Cadet IA. Colonel Norman W. Shull, who had a 3.83,
and past Cadet Wing Commander, Cadet Colonel William A. 1. Addisot.
Jr., who had a 3.52 cumulative g.p.r.
Angel Flight compiled a 2.810 semester g.p.r. and a 2.853 cumula
tive g.p.r. Angels Roberta Mears, with a 3.97 cumulative g.p.r., and Patti
Knight with a 3.5 cumulative g.p.r., led the Angels in scholarship.
CAROLINA CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP will meet on Tuesday,
March 30, in Rutledge Chapel at 7 p.m. There will be a discussion on
Matthew 24 and 25.
THE USC SAILING CLUB will meet at 5:30 p.m.. April 1, in Room

DR. ARTHUR M. FRASER, head of the Department of Music,
will again conduct the Columbia Festival Orchestra in the concert
March 29. The concert will be held in the USC Field House.
Twenty-nine persons with current or former affiliations with
Carolina will perform. Miss Beverly Wolff, mezzo-soprano, will be
guest artist. On the program are "Egmont Overture," Beethoven;
"Symphony No. 3" (Scotch Symphony), Mendelssohn; "Songs of a
Wayfarer," Mahler; "Gypsy Song" and "Habanera" from Bizet's
"Carmen"; and "Hungarian March," Berlioz.
