The final totals found that USC had been both victorious and de feated in their first 1964 cross country encounter. Webb totaled 55 yards on the gr.ound. Ben Garnto and Bob Har ris were the big ground gainers in the Birds' only game this sea son, both with 69 yards. Galloway got off the longest single run of the game with a 93-yard TD gal lop with the second half kick-off. Halfback Harris ran the distance with an 89-yard punt return. Quarterback Garnto had the long est gainer from scrimmage as he twisted up the center on a 48-yard scoring run. Garnto also had the biggest yard per carry average with 11 yards per try. Cooter Wil liams was the most consistent Gamecock carrier with a 9.8 yard average for seven carries. Scoring Leading the Biddies scoring pa rade with six points each are Jim Dyer, Mike Fair, Garnto, Williams, Galloway, and Harris. Place kick ers Jimmy Poole with five and Steve Becker with two, round out the scoring.
