Highlighting the neeting was the introduc ion, debate, and passage of bill concerning lounges on he USC campus. The bill, introduced by senator Tim Quinn, was con ,erned with the fact that the raternities and sororities on ampus must pay rent for their respective lounges, and must also buy such items as television sets and furniture for their own use, while there are well equipped lounges in several of the men's dormitories which cost the men nothing. The bill was passed by a vote of 25-9, and a committee was formed to look into the situation. Also introduced, but sent to committe for further study, was a bill concerning the traffic prob lem on campus. Such things as not allowing freshmen to have cars except under certain condi tions, the establishment of a traf fic court, and the problem of high traffic tickets were mentioned in the bill. Most executive committee chair nen were named. The awards were for lews stories the two wrote on the ntegration riots at the University f Mississippi in the fall. The Gamecock also received hon rale mention for make-up in the ~ontest for college papers in the C~arolinas. Myers and Miss Coker will at tend the banquet at the Hotel Barringer in Charlotte tonight. Present at the dinner will be the awards winners, the editors and executives of the Observer, and of the Nes'n.
