Birdie To Begin Friday "You gotta he sincere ... honestly sincere." On October 12, Town Theatre will open its new season with Bye, Oye, Birdie, a gay, galloping musi cal that has broken theatre records since its appearance on Broadway three years ago. The play tells the saga of a teen-age idol, Conrad Birdie, who begins having problems of a major nature when both the draft board and the Al-Mae-Lou Music Cor poration need his services simul taneously. Conrad will give one farewell kiss to Kim Macafee, president of the Birdie Fan Club in Sweet Apple, West Virginia. The plot thickens when Kim, un ,Aware that she had been blessed with the devastating honor of Conrad's "Last Kiss," becomes pinned to the boy next door - in this case, Hugo Peabody, a ninety pound, jealous weakling. Then the fun, the songs, the dances, and the hilarity begin. Student tickets will be on sale Wednesday, October 10, from the Town Theatre box office, for $1.00. Y'all come!
