Pep Club Will Hold
Big Rally On Davis Field
The Pep Club is sponsoring a fron 6:00 until 6:15. At that time
pep rally on Davis Field from President Robert L. Sumwalt will e
5:30 until 6:30 Saturday to be introduce Coach Marvin Bass,
televised state-wide by WIS-TV. who, in turn, will introduce the

ment has announced that the
South Carolina Electric and
G'as Company will run a bus
every 15 minutes to the
Stadium, starting at 6:30. The
bus will leave from the corner
of Sumter a n d Pendleton
streets, and a fare of 15 cents
will he required for the trip
there, and another token for
the trip back to the campus.

in American Government, to be
broadcast this year over WIS-TV,
Columbia. will he offered as a col
lege credit course by the lxtension
Division of the University.
ihe two-semester courso, "The
Structure and Functions of Ameri
ilcan Government," will present an
objective and .scholarly analysis of
the fundamentals of government and
how government policies are made
and formulated.
An NBC network of more than
170 stations will carry the course
throughout the nation, with colleges
and universities participating in
offering it as a college course.
Dr. Peter Odegard, professor of
political science at the University
of California at Berkeley. will teach
the television classes 6:30-7 a.m.
Monday through Friday, beginning
Monday, Sept. 25. Guest lecturers
from high levels of government,
industry and the arts and sciences
will appear on the average of once
a week.
