'Blue Monday' Blues Laundry[ BY JOAN WOLCOTT Staff Writer Even detergent hands can't keep Carolina men from their rendez vous with "Blue Monday." When a campus bachelor real izes that his closet is bare of clean apparel, he becomes a man of action. Grabbing the flakes, he heads for the nearest laundromat, whistling " S o a p Gets in My Eyes," as a spirit-lifter. Hot air, familiar faces, and ma chines of all kinds greet Boy Friday as he enters the laundry. He doesn't hesitate at the deter gent and bleach machine, for he is armed with his favorite brand name flakes. Laundry lounging is old hat to this "do-it-yourself" man. lie oc cupies his time either by reading the wall signs, playing cards, or visualizing ways to spend the money he's saving. A construc tive lounger may even study or read. Transferring his wet clothes to a dryer, Boy Friday nears the end of his labor. In a matter of minutes, he is stuffing c l e a n clothes into his bag. He trudges back to the campus, a satisfied pack-horse.
