By interviewing sev eral students connected with WUS through a foreign country or personal service, and an in terested student new to WUS a )P collection of answers was made to the following questions: Do you think that if Carolina students would participate in WUS, an international coopera tive effort, it would stimulate an interest in world happenings and their importance for us? Does knowing that WUS is an international organization and that countries receiving foreign aid from U. VIRGINIA PORCHER, a sen fr, gives her opinion: "WUS would help achieve this. end if the students were prop erly educated as to what it is without being asked to donate to something they know nothing about. I think it would stimulate more of a feeling of world friend ship than in world happenings but it would surely help us to overcome our narrowminded out look in many areas. "Definitely. Any knowledge as to the background of a real pur pose is a stimulus to contribu tion. "I cannot answer this with out a knowledge as to how many have been helped in the past but from its stated aims it would seem to be." SUE NETTLES, a senior, feels: "I think that our participation in WUS may encourage an in terest in world affairs and may lead to that sense of personal concern and involvement which so often is absent when we con sider the international s c e n e. For myself, I find it much easier to develop an interest in other people who are a part of my own age group; WUS would seem very effective at this point and also could help to widen our horizons. "It seems to me that WUS, with its program of 'mutual as sistance and education,' has ad ditional significance in that its program is not a handout but seeks to serve as an impetus to dlevelopment within a nation.
