The team spent much of the day- in the lecture room while the fans roamed the streets looking for bargains and souvenirs to bring back to Carolina. At three in the afternoon, the team ate their big meal; then the long wait began. Time seemed to hang suspended and t h e minutes parlayed into hours until the buses left the hotel at six-thirty for the Orange Bowl. Clear Weather Then the rain came, in a sprinkle at first. Upon arrival at the Stadi um, the rain increased until at 7:15 it was like an April shower. The giant tarpaulin glistened under the bright lights as the stadium crews rolled it up with the rain still coming down.
