Through USOC these groups share responsibility for a consulta tion on developing work with the 34,000 international students on Am6rican campuses, regional ecu menical study- conferences at Christmas time, and the ralsIng )f more than $80,000 for the work af the WSCF and its member na tional movements. 13 Scholarships Are Announced Thirteen music scholarships are available to students entering the University next fall to major in music or music education, Dr. Hugh Williamson, director of the music lepartment, has announced. Dr. Williamson said scholarship auditions will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 14, in Lieber Col lege. - Applications for auditions must be received on or before Mar. 1, Dr.- Williamson said, and applica tion forms may be obtained by writing to the department of music. Chemistry Research Is Aided The National Science Founda tion announced Wednesday the award of a $13,217 grant to the University for research in chem istry, biology and physics by col lege and high school teachers. The research will be conducted on campus this summer. Dr. Peyton C. Teague, director of the project, pointed out that of the two South Carolina institutions receiving research grants, only the University will have college teach ers in" the program. The University is authorized nine participants, divided approximately evenly among the three fields of study. Six are expected to be col lege teachers and three high school teachers, but the proportions are flexible.
