FADS AND FANCIE Re le Be Fe AK. Mrs. Maynard Neider models of stylist Henry Harrison of Belk can he worn day or evening. The choice for 1958-59. The sweep, the uplift, the for ward motion-these are today's accents in styles. Milady match es her automobile and her per sonality, she is becoming a color ful tribute to the space age. "Madame Recamier Look" In choosing a hair style that compliments the trend with the mouern minded woman in 1968-9, it's apt to be the "mpire look" cut--smooth at the ends, swept upward accenting the crown and adaing height. This influence along with the high waisted fash ions is one of tho season's new est and most exciting trends. The flowing lines of this stylo give the appearance of forward motion in wind-blown elegance. Mr. Henry Harrison, stylist of Belk's salon in Columbia, adds that the trick of the "Empire" is to "give the appearance of having quite a lot of hair when in reality the cut average from 2 to 3 inches or even shorter." This casual style Is a convertible one that will be seen anywhere day or evening. Variations Variations are unlimited. Ex periments with a brush and ona menta prove quite profitable and the effect is a personalized one. The "Empire" lends Itself well to either evening or~daytime vari ations according to your whims. For casual daytime wear It can easily be brushed back from the face in soft waves or smoothed back with a headache band. Dif ferent lines, clips or combs are a few of many possible ideas. Color Is New No longer are color variations dangerous And hard to do. New Ideas in color are nothing short of amazing.
