Have Fun "The Gamecock" readers will have a chance to match wits with the experts this week in picking the winners of Saturday's games plus having a chance to wn $5 for their efforts. This newly Inaugurated "Gridi ron Guessing Game" will appear weekly in "The Gamecock" for the next eight weeks, with a $5 prize being awarded to the winner each week. In order to enter the contest all you have to do is circle the team you think will be the winner in Saturday's games listed below. Then, on the last game listed, you predict what you think will be the score of the game. (In this week's case the game is the North Caro lina vs. Southern California game.) Big letters say, "Show him what kind of a man you are." Head coach Warren Giese is hoping that this will typify the attitude of his players in bouncing back from last week's 45-8 pound ing from Army to an inspired per formance against Georgia's Bull dogs at Athens, Ga., Shturday afternoon. A Giese-coached team had never been puphed around by an oppos ing offense the way Army did last weekend. The previous high point total against Giese in his three seasons here had been run-up by North Carolina State in a 19-26 victory here last November. Frosh Cage Tryouts Held October 15 Assistant Basketball Coach Ken Rosemand has announced that try outs for the Freshman basketball team will be held on October 15. All boys interested in trying out for the team should contact Coach Rosemand at the field House after 1:00 before October 15. Coach Rosemand has lined up quite an attractive schedule for his freshman team this year. The schedule stands at 18 games at present, but will probably be ex panded to 20 games. Among the foes the Frosh team will meet are Wake Forest, Duke, Wilmington Junior College, Spartanburg Junior College, Erskine, Wofford, North Greenville Junior College. "We think we'll have one of the best Freshman squads we've had in several seasons," Coach Rose mand said. "We've got several ex cellent ball players we're really counting on. One of the boys, Art Whisnant, from Hildebrand, North Carolina, was voted Most Valuable Player in the annual East-West game played each year in North Carolina.
