Two Shops Run Jointly Run jointly, the Campus Shop and Gameroom definitely cater to University students. What profits are made from the two organiza tions go back to the University to be used for various student funds. Open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. the gameroom is the center of much student activity. "We have ap proximately 500 students in and out of here every day,'' said Hugh Merck, gameroom manager. Merck is also a student at the Univer sity and a former football player. The Campus Shop is designed to handle 5,000 people in a rush hour, according to Landis N. Perry, merchandising manager. The Campus Shop also enploys nine student assistants as well as three full-time employees. Many Articles in Campus Shop Selling everything from tooth paste to Wedgewood china, the Campus Shop is constantly busy. "In the near fiture we hope to introduce a plan of buying used books during the semester instead of at the beginning of tie semes ter," said Perry. Coker President To Speak At Baptist Ceremony The Baptist Student Union will hold its annual installation service Sunday evening, May ti, at the evening worship service of the First Baptist Church. Dr. John A. Barry, president of Coker College, and former profes sor of philosophy at Furman Uni versity, will be the speaker. Dr. Barry will speak on "The Place of Religion in Higher Education." Participating in the service will be Toni Collins, past BSIJ presi dent of Columbia, and Jim Young blood, who served last year as USC Baptist Student Union presi dent and has recently been elected as state HSU president. Bach-Stradal, "Impromptu in B Flat, Op. 142, No. 3" by Schubert, "Etude, Op. 10, No. 3" by Chopin, and "Rhapsody in E Flat" by Brahms.'
