Cotlho . OTH..1" Book Review Book Lists Selections Of Sermons Lloyd C. Douglas' latest book "The Living Faith" includes selec tions, most of which are sermons, written by Lloyd C. Douglas. A few are addresses given before groups other than church congre gations. The dates and places where he delivered the selections are given at the end of each selection. Frag ments that follow some of the sermons are taken from Dr. Douglas' prayers. The sermons which were chosen give the highlights of Dr. Douglas' philosophy of life. His faith and teachings go back to the funda mentals that Christ laid (dowa in the Sermon on the Mount. Dr. Douglas says it is never too late to set past mistakes right, and a man can always find a new life, if he has the will to work for it. Dr. Douglas felt strongly that most churches spend too much time on the forms of religion and fail to play a positive role in man's everyday life. Through this book an even larger audience can take hope and comfort in the words of a wise and good man.-Barbara Haw thorne. Engineering Frat Holds Banquet At Laurel Hill Epsilon Lambda Sigma, na tional honorary engineering fra ternity, held its semi-annual ini tiation banquet Wednesday night at Laurel Hill. The banquet was for members of the fraternity, their dates, and School of Engineering faculty members and their wives. Prof. Robert H. Nagel of the University of Tennessee was the banquet speaker. Protossor Nagel is national secretary..treasurer of Tau Beta Pi, honorary engineer ing fraternity. The local chapter of Epsilon Lambda Sigma Is making plans to petition Tau Beta P1 for a chapter en the University campus. Plans were discussed with Professor Nagel during his camtpus visit. The dance will be cabaret style. The Carolina Cotillion Club originated at the University in the "Gay Era" of 1946. It was founded by Bill Hutchison, Bill Bader and Bob Chapman. The youngest social organization on campus, its membership is limited to a certain number of male stu dents. Membership is by invita tion only and all members act as an invitation committee.
