SPORTOMATIC The powerful Terrapins representing the University c 4 Maryland's football fortunes possibly didn't have to resort t trickery in defeating a game band of Carolina men Saturda but Coach Jim Tatum certainly can't boast that he ra roughshod over an undermanned squad. The Gamecocks hav played steady, winning football all season and in this writer' opinion continued to uphold this record last week end. Johnny Gramling increased his prominence in the pig. skin circles throughout the South with his passing, and sc did Clyde Bennett with his receiving of these passes, "Mule" played one of the best, if not the best game of his brilliant career here at the University, and I firmly believe that he was by far the outstanding lineman of the game. If the performance he showed the fans of Washington and the surrounding territory Saturday is not worthy of notable attention by all sportswriters, then someone, in cluding myself, has missed the boat.
