I know; I'll tell you. It's the most interesting of dormitory institutions. It has ele ments of good entertainment. What is it? It is the bull session. You understand that the female bull session probably got started when Mrs. Neanderthal Shlob and Mrs. Neanderthan Gump bent eagerly together by a stream and washed their husbands' bearskins. Undoubtedly, they were discussing (via sign language and grunts) Mrs. Neanderthal Mumbo's new bearskin or her new husband, f, Society Editor BETTY JO LAND on Wheel a week . . . Past and Preseni whom Mrs. Mumbo had had th stupid audacity to club over th head and take to her cave. You can see that the difficultie involved in such a conversatior were numerous. For instance, thf sign for "woman" in one trib meant "dinosaur" in another, ant when one woman calls another s dinosaur-well, primitive warfari was rather frequent. As time and civilization ad vanced, the next step in th< development of the bull sessior was the harem. This interesting institution, undoubtedly, cam( about because of the love o: Egyptian women for gambling Anyone with any sense knows yoi can't have a bridge game (or the Egyptian equivalent) vithout a least three other women to tall to. Their conversations were con cerned with the new. harem poo and the hundredth wife fron Bojaharijkle. They might have told unbathed Jokes, too. The next great step in the ad vance of the bull session was the quilting party. This was a partl where members of the fair sei patched quilts and each other. This type of gathering was brought tc perfection by those hardy pioneers the wives of the American '49-ers While the menfolks were of: shooting Indians, these hardy souls gathered in a huddle, talking o: Sally Jameson's hoop skirt and hei new swain. Thus, through the ages (la-de da), the dormitory bull session has come to us. In order to be the hostess at one of these fetes, yoi should have a large quantity o food, some undone homework, pack of cards, a joke book, and flat, alto voice. The time shoul< be after eleven p.m. The classic subjects for conver sation in a bull session are mei and the absent women. Sometimes though, music, modern art, and th, ballet are discussed. Bull sessions have their nerve wracking points, too. You los sleep, and your singing voice you hear dreadfully catty remark about other girls; and, If you wal into a session unexpectedly, yo may ruin the topic of conversatlor There's more I'd like to tell yoi but I really must run. It's elevei and Judy's boyfriend . . .Yo understand. Kaleidoscope By KOCKY, the Gamecoci Hi, folks! I'm back again. Say, have you noticed the ho] in Davis ceiling ?
