Hood, Duke Pledge DZ Betty Ann Hood, Lmberton, N. C., and Hazel Duke, Kingstree, were pledged by Delta Zeta on January 14. During the special two weeks open rush, Delta Zeta held a night club party, a gypsy party and a Chinese party for the rushees. Betty Ann was elected Rat Queen first semester. Both girls are freshmen. ZTA Plans Stardust Ball Friday the thirteenth will be the lucky day for members of Zeta Tau Alpha, their dates and guests. That is the date for their biennial Starduat Ball. Tickets On Sale For ROTC Ball Tickets are now on sale for the annual Military Ball to be held April 10. The Air Force ROTC ball will be held in the Irownship Auditorium. The affair will be under the chairmanship of Cadet Lt. Col. Andy Gary. Ralph Marterie and his orchestra have been engaged to furnish music for the ball. He will bring to Columbia two vocalists and an 18-piece band. Marterie was selected after his recordings received the approval of more than 90 per cent of the several hundred advanced students who heard them. Pep Club Dance Held A crowd estimated at 200 at tended the Gamecock Pep Club dance held in the naval Armory last Friday night. The dance was held from 9 to 12 with music by Roy Hammond and his orchestra. The proceeds will be used towards paying for the trick cards used by the card section during football season, according to Pep Club President Ares Artemes. Freshmen Honored Freshmen for the new semester were welcomea with an informal dance at Flinn Hall February 8. The dance lasted from-8 p.m. until 11 p.m. Music was furnished by a combo of students. Approximately 200 students enjoyed the party, which was held in the upstairs dining hall. Refreshments were served. The dance honoring new fresh men is a semester affair at Caro lina. In the fall semester, a street dance is held. LSA Has Party At Park Lutheran Student Association members and their guests enjoyed a party at Earlewood Park Feb ruary 4.
