Telephone Office Will Be Moved The new administration building at the University of South Caro lina will eventually house the tele phone exchange, Western Union teletype machine, and the informa tion headquarters for the Univer sity, Dr. William H. Patterson, assistant to the president, revealed today. The information desk in the new building was originally planned to handle all campus inArmation but lack of space prevented this, Dr. Patterson said. Information on students is now kept by a special information operator at the telephone ex change in Maxcy College. Dr. Patterson said the telephone exchange will be moved into the administration building next sum mer. Once moved, the exchange will remain open all night, Instead of closing at 11:00 p.m., he said. Dr. Patterson said the reason for this was "Security." A teletype was installed at the Information desk in the new build ing but was removed to the tele phongeall because the desk was not manned at all times through the day. Dr. Patterson said it would be moved back, but remain under the supervision of the telephone exchange.
