RED HOLLIS and KATHIE BRUNSON were married February 16. Phi Kap's recently pledged BUDDY ULMER ... and not only that, but they had a party at the Woman's Club not too long ago. Following our last week's roster of those who migrated down to Charleston for the fights were these Phi Ep's: S. APPLEBAUM, D. GORDIN, J. SIMON, IZZIE (I'll give you that poster some day) LOURIE, P. GARFINKLE, I. A. GOLDBERG, L. O'BRENTZ, BILL NOVIT, and A. GREENE. ROSE REYNOLDS made a pilgrimage to Johnston last weekend. The Phi Sig's, who were neglected in last week's obelisk, have also been on the go: B. D. CAUGHMAN, BURR CHAMBLESS, and TOM CARR descended to Sylvania, Ga. last weekend. PHIL SAWYER meandered to Winthrop for the Mid-Winter Formal. RAY UNDERWOOD sailed to Edisto Beach. The latest Phi Kap pledges are CLAUDE RINEHART and FRED DUDLEY. The ensuing members of the same went to the Winthrop dance: BRUCE ELLIOTT, RED RAS BERRY, LARRY BENSON, BUDDY ULMER, RUDY LEE, JIM KENNEDY (?), DICKIE LEAPTROT, and WIZARD of OZ HUDSON. This accumulation of a recital of details leaves me to only one conclusion: CANDLER SPENCE, Phi Sig, ain't never done nothing to nobody no time, nohow. JIM SMITH, Pi KA, swiped a trip to Wilmington, Dela ware for an interview with the Du Ponts. My literary friend, WILLIAM BLAKE once wrote, "The Gamecock clipped and armed for fight does the rising sun affright." Some Gamecock must've frightened some son the other day, because as I came by the Sigma Chi house, I was horrified to see two of the inmates carry a third one out encased in some sort of a sarcophagus into a real mob car, or was it a hearse? Who, pray tell, was the mummyfied one? BETTY JO LAND, ZTA, was voted their best pledge. KD pledges entertained the actives at a party last Friday. The affair took place at the home of Betty and Duncan Bellinger on that garnet schist out at Lake Murray. IRENE HERTY, former KD, was chosen Sweetheart of Sigma Nu at the White Rose Formal. HERB FREEMAN, SONNY NEWTON, CANNON MAT THEWS, and GARY NEWTON ascended to Charlotte for an Annual Founder's Day Banquet. Pi KA's also have announced their new Pledge officers: President, JIM KENNEDY; (??) President in charge of Vice, KING MARTIN; Secretary Treasurer, RUDY LEE. A certain Phi Kap again visited the Nurse's Home, and this time, he went in. PAUL PHILLIPS and CHUCK DAVIDSON, Phi Sig's, made a trek to Raleigh . . . Why, they'll never tell. But here's something they will tell . . . Added to their recent pledges, the Phi Sig's boast of Big STEVE P. E. HERCZEG and BOB BLAKELY. The Sigma Nu's had a rush party at the Woman's Club last Friday night . . . Then they turned around and were at another party at the Hollywood Club on Saturday night. The Lambda Chi's devoured their traditional spaghetti a la Italiano supper at the Varsity Grill last Thursday night in honor of their rushees. The next procession of names belong to those Pi Kappa Phi's who assisted at their Rose Ball at P. C.: WESLEY KENNEDY (this must be a conspiracy), LEON GAMBLE, EDDIE SAUNDERS, JIM HANNA, ROY EARGLE, and DAVID CROMER. Delta Sigma Pi Pledges Eight Delta Sigma Pi, professional commerce fraternity, pledged eight men last week. Those pledged are Ellie Gasque, Edward Bunyan, John Harrison, Joe Dooley, P e r r y Lemons, Elton Hartley, Bobby Sanders and Piercy Parris. The present pledges will be initIated March 21.
