Much Worry
For Head Man
By FRED DUN LAP
Do you know J. T. Stradley ? If
you do, you must be a kinsman of
his, for he is constantly on the
go. Stradley is superintendent of
buildings and grounds at Carolina.
Over 46 acres of land are under
Stradley's care, and also the sta
dium and the Carovet apartments.
One hundred and thirty employees
are directly responsible to him. His
staff includes electricians, plumb.
ers, carpenters, maids, janitors,
gardeners, a night watchman. and
a steam plant engineer.
There are 27 classroom and lab.
oratory buildings, numer;us dor.
mitories and other buildings at the
University maintained by Stiadley
and his force. To mention a few
of their duties, they cut grass, con
dition tennis courts, trim hedges,
and plant trees.
Stradley's force has just com
pleted planting new trees abctit the
campus, and also replacing the
memorial trees on Pickens Street
with bronze plaques.
Little Audrey, mad as hell,
Pushed her sister in the well.
Said her mother, drawing water,
"Gee, it's hard to raise a daugh
