Bird, training supervisor at the May plant of the duPont comi pany, in Camden, to confer with employees interested in evening school classes. More duPont employees ex pressed interest in accounting than any other subject. This is evidenced by the flight which ten members of the cadet corps participated in re cently. The recent flight was the first of many which will be flown to give the cadets practical experi ence in flying operations. The cadets who flew the first flight were seniors, and were chosen be cause they were "tops" in the cadet corps. The air science department teaches the cadets the principles of air power, navigation, weather, air operations, meteorology, and like subjects in the classroom; then students board a plane to put their "book learning" into actual operation. Flights begin and end at Shaw Air Force Base and the planes are provided by that base. Col. P. K. Morrill, Shaw com mander, has shown a great interest in the cadet corps and has been very generous in turning over the facilities of the base to assist in this and other AFROTC projects, according to 1st Lt. John F. Camp hell, adjutant of the Air Force unit here. Although students in the Air ROTC course aren't required to take the flights most of them have expressed a desire to participate. The extra-curricula flights do not interfere with classes because they are flowaton Saturday afternoons. Officers from the university air science department serve as pilots and navigators on the trips. Each cadet is given an opportunity to pilot the plane and to navignto Every graduate is eligible to take flight training as a Second Lieu tenant after completion of the Air ROTC program. Students! The Civil Aeronautics Adminis tration has positions open for properly trained men beginning at $3875 per annum. Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph company has made an engagement to meet memhers of the graduating class who might care to accept work in the engineer ing or traffic department. A Charleston firm has several openings, particularly with men with architectural background. Accounting graduates will find an opening in Savannah, Ga. These are a few of the openings about which notice has been re ceived in the past two weeks. All candidates should complete their registration with the placement hureau at once. At a recent con ference, two men were not con sidered because their files were not complete and the firm holding the conference made their selection be fore receiving the delayed creden. titals. 1970 Underg-raduates Fill Out Curriculum Planning Week Forms Professor McCall of the person nel hureau has announced that 95 per cent of the regular under graduate student hody completed pre-registration during curriculum advisement week. During the week, 1970 undergraduates pre registered. The sequence of registration priority is in order of the credits earned and the pre-registration forms turned in earliest hear the lowest receipt numbers. The per sontiel bureau will fill in registIa tion priority tickets and will mail them to students approximately a week in advance of the opening of the spring semester.
