Members of McBryde Brotherhood seem to be getting
the organization rally rolling again. Plans have it that they
are throwing a party tonight at the Woman's Club, 9 thorugh
12, music being supplied by BILLY #IANNA and his band.
CHARLES A. JONES, Sigma Chi, did vocal work on the
Messiah, presented at the Township Auditorium last Satur
day night and Sunday afternoon.
The Sigma Chi Quartet, composed of CHARLES A.
JONES, CHARLES MERRITT, GEORGE ROTH, and BILL
JORDAN, has been asked to sing at the special program
being presented by the University Chorus.
Knew we couldn't get by a week without someone being
pinned. KAY COX of Columbia was pinned by FRANK
MARTIN and ED MONTEITH was pinned to HAZEL ANN
ANDERSON of Winthrop.
Delta Zetas held initiation November 13, new actives
being SARA MAE THREVENOT and BETTY RUTH
CRAPPS.
Pi Kappa Alphas haven't been hiding in a shell by any
means. Last Monday night they pledged TED HITT of
Augusta, Ga., and-initiated VERNON HARWELL of Land
rum into the active ranks of the chapter.
Heard for sure this week that PHYLLIS DUKES, Zeta
Tau Alpha alumna, has set the wedding date for January 7,
1951. The lucky guy is BILL DELOACHE of Clemson.
Phi Kappa Sigmas held initiation last Monday night. The
initiates were: OWEN CEDARBURG, GEORGE CREPEAU
and CHARLIE FERGUSON. After the ceremonies, the new
actives were honored with a dinner at the Green Derby.
ELMORE CAMERON of Georgetown, S. C., recently pledged
Phi Kappa Sig. Phi Kaps are among the "partyingest
groups on the campus. December 15th they will hold their
annuai Christuas Party a% the ;,uthskeller in the Jeffersor
Hotel.

1951, at Allendale. LILLY GROOVER, Tri Delt, is pinned

During the holidays, wedding bells rang for VIRGINIA
SANDY and JOHN DOWDLE, Phi Kappa Sigma. Another
lucky girl, ANN WILSON of Lake City, wearing the pin of
JOE PITTMAN, Pi Kappa Phi.
HELEN McLEOD and GENEVIEVE STEVENSON, Tri
Delt transfers from Charleston, were affiliated with Alpha
Lambda chapter Monday night. Pledges of Tri Delt gave a
campus Drop-In Sunday night in the chapter room.
Been hearing that SUZANNE MOYE, Pi Beta Phi, at
tended the University of Georgia Homecoming and CLAUDE
THORNHILL dance last weekend.
Sigma Chis had a stag party last Monday night after
hearing a talk by the Reverend BOB JOHNSTON, one of
the Religious Emphasis Week speakers. Around 45 members
were present.
Recently tapped into ODK, honorary leadership fra
ternity, were Sigma Chis JOHN SAVOY and DICK POLEN.
PiKAs making up the Carolina cheering section at
Winston..Salem on Thanksgiving Day when the Carolina
freshmen defeated the Wake Forest freshmen were:
CANNON MATTHEWS, THAD SMITH, JAKE DENNIS,
and KEN LANNIGAN. Members of Gamma Phi of Pi Kappa
Alpha at Wake Forest visited Xi chapter last weekend.
PIKA alumni visiting the chapter last weekend were "WHIT"
WHITLOCK, who is now attending Georgetown University,
and ED SALEEBY.

Angelo Louis Tsiantis encoun
tered an actual experience about
which many of us have had be
wildered nightmares. It's easy
enough to get confused and lost
while changing trains, but it's in
finitely worse when you can't
speak the language of the country.
Angelo, who has traveled in
Italy and France, came over here
from Athens, Greece, on December
25, three years ago. His father.
an American citizen, had talked of
the United States so much that he
aroused Angelo's curiosity; so the
then 17-year-old Greek, inheriting
his father's citizenship, landed in
New York in 1947.
After two days in New York he
set out for Williamson, W. Va., on
a train. Faced with the dilemma
of changing trains, Angelo could
remember only one word . . . tooth
pick. He went around saying,
"Williamson,". but got nowhere
until a strange girl grabbed him
andl got him aboard a train. Still
confused as to the identity of the
