L"udmddlp Grawr Gives Scholrsip Loans To Students Alpha Kappa Gamma, leadership sorority, 12 Years ago adopted as one of Its main projects a scholar ship loan fund to aid students in completing their education. The Initial fund constituted a small amount. After annVal addi tions over the 12 year period, the principal Is now several thousand dollars. More than $5,000 has been lent to students at the university. The loans are usually in the amount of $100 and $200. Prefer ence is given to juniors and seniors. A scholarship chairman, the president of the university, and Mrs. Arney R. Childs, dean of women, constitute the fund com mittee. Applications for the fund are made to the chairman. Upon approval, the applicant signs an agreement to pay the debt within two years after his graduation. "The rate of collection Is very high," Mrs. Childs said, and very few are uncollectable. Some stu dents have sent contributions for the fund with their returned loans. Many boys have used the loan fund. One paid back his loan over a three-year period of military service. His payments came from Africa, France, and a South Pacific island. Ann Mood, senior from Colum bia, is the chairman of the fund. Loans of varying amounts are now available, and anyone Interested should get In touch with the chairman. . spoke By BUZZ FROM THE LOOKS OF TH SATURDAY MORNING the transferred their scene of acti: dium.
