The boys knew thair y business well. But that could not stop Wadiak from "going all the I way." Aiiyway, now I can go home and say that WE won the Clemson n game. And that is something. Another question I have often y been asked is somewhat embarass Sing since I have not been able to do too much research on the sub ' ject yet. d "How do you like American n girls?" n Hm. The construction is not too e different from the new 1949 mod Iels at home, but I have not been s able to talk to many of them, since everybody calls me "Wolf" for short, which proves to be a nega e tive factor in making acquaint 0ances. S However, I know where Colum e bia College is, already, and within a few months I may be able to let 0you have a more detailed report; tso far I think the girls are a valu n able asset to our campus life. ~By the way, campus life: I could write volumes on the subject. If e 'you have to get up for eight o'clock e classes, it is consoling to hea' a cheering word from other unfor e tunate members of this university, tand being able to talk a few min utes here and there gives much more the feeling of belonging to gether. At Frankfurt University, if you lave four or five friends, you have many; and all through most of your studies these people may be the only ones you get into contact with. Before I came here, I did not know better, but going back next year, it will be lonesome. Who is going to accompany me' to a late evening sandwich or to a can of coffee at the Plaza? It is during these informal, accidental meetings, that you really get to know your fellow students, and I have learned more this way about life around here than by reading big books on the subject. Y.-(I.P.) -A new and experimental exam ination system has been instituted at Skidmore College. Under this new system some examinations are scheduled and some are not. Those which are, are twenty-one hours apart and must be taken when scheduled unless they conflict with other scheduled examinations. The unscheduled exams may be taken whenever i.he student dcsires, so long as they are also spaced twenty-one hours apart. In order to be of greatest profit to each individual student, it be came apparent to the administra tion that more time for review for each exam, and more equal spac ing of a student's examinations, was desirable. Because of the success df the honor system on this campus in all its varied aspects the faculty has sufficient confidence that un scheduled examinations will not be an undue strain on the honor sys temn. Instead, the new system pre sents a challenge to the students in that they may not discuss exams during the examination period. Faith in the new system is not unwarranted, for during the past year the philosophy department has pioneered in the experiment and has given tests in its large philosophy of religion class which could be taken any time within a given day. The results were conm pletely satisfactory anid roused the interest of the faculty and student body. Score Guessing Winner Named J. C. Lowe of Columbia has been announced as the winner of the Carolina-Clemson score guessing couitest, led by the Campus repre sentatives of Chesterfields, Bill Gibbs and Glenn Gainey.. Lowe guessed correctly over 219 other entries in the contest. The Chesterfield representatives reported that many guesses came close to the 'exact score, sometimes within one point. Response of the students to the contest has led the representatives to consider sponsoring a similar cont t. for some future game. "youse guys" to "yo'all" and re moving other minor yankee-isms. The only thing I still cannot get used to is grits. The exterior of the new build ng is in Colonial tradition with all, white columns, the outer walls re built of hand-made Williams urg brick. Inside, there is a large reception kall which is also done in colonial tyle, paneled walls, with large vindows disclosing the main con rol rooms. Fluorescent lighting is ised throughout. The hallways Ind individual offices are painted n pastel shades of rose, blue, and treen. During the official opening, ours of the studio and office >uilding will be conducted.
