Naval Science Releases Sumn Program For A Information has been released by Col. Dewin C. Ferguson, USMC, professor of naval science, con cerning the 1949 summe* cruises' and summer training camp sched uled for Midshipmen. The rising seniors and sopho mores will embark at Treasure Is land, San Francisco, Calif., June 16 for a six weeks cruise. The groups of midshipmen*par ticipating in this cruise will con sist of 16 seniors and 32 sopho mores. The cruise ships will be two heavy cruisers and four de stroyers. Four contract seniors will malte a three weeks cruise in the Atlan tic embarking from Norfolk, Va., Naval Base on June 25 and disem barking July 16. Two senior students, who are candidates for a commission as Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, will report to the Marine Base at Quantico, Va., for eight weeks training from June 21 nntil August 16. Thirty-five rising juniors will have eight weeks of aviation and amiphibious training at the Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Va., beginning July 2, for two weeks training in amphibious war fare, followed by six weeks of avia tion ground school and flight in doctrination at the Naval Air Sta tion, Pensacola, Fla. Training for this group will be completed on August 27.
