Thurmc Seven Carolina Students Elected To Legislature Seven Carolina students were elected this summer as members of the state House of Representa tives and will serve in the session that will begin in January. They are: Walter T. Lake, law student from Newberry; Frank Eppes, - senior from Greenville; John Howard White, law student from Cherokee county; William T. Jones, law student from Green wood; Paul McChesney, Jr., law student from Spartanburg; David Lyles, law student from York; and John D. Vickery, Jr., law student from Pickens. McKit trick, senior from Greenville, an nounced today. At the regular meeting of the sophomore "Y" council Wednesday a motion was passed to re-inaugu rate the canteen which proved suc cessful last year. The canteen will be opened on the second floor of Flynn Hall one night a week. Dancing, card playing, chess, and other forms of recreation will be offered. The night on which the canteen will be open has not yet been decided. The council is making tentative plans to sponsor other projects such as a "Clean-Up Week." The sophomore "Y" council meets each Wednesday at 1 p. m. on the second floor of Flinn Hall. Membership is open to all students, men or women, who are members of the sophomore class. The repairs would have been completed sooner had the weather been more favorable. A main portion of the work done during the past five weeks was the installation of two new boilers and a complete set of pip ing. In the near future a heating plant serving Steward's Hall, the Gymnasium, and the Field House will be completed and ready to serve these areas.
