Intramural Track Fratern Ten Events Scheduled For 4 P.M. The fraternity intramural track meet will begin today at 4 p. m., on Davis field. Ten events are scheduled to be run off in the fol lowing order: 1, 100-yard dash; 2, shot put (8 pounds) and high jump; 3, 880-yard run; 4, 220 yard dash; 6, mile run, running broad jump and standing broad jump; 6, 440-yard dash; 7, 440 yard relay. Teams and individuals may en ter at the time of the event. An individual will be allowed to enter but three events and the use of track shoes will be prohibited. Tennis Team Has Playoffs; Schedule Fifteen Matches 'The Carolina tennis team will play a 15 match schedule begin ning March 30 with Kalamazoo (Mich.) in Columbia and ending with Newberry there. Coach Henry Bartos said he ex pects to use either Fred Atkinson or Ben Turner in the No. 1 posi tion. Atkinson played that posi tion in 1946, while Turner held the top spot in 1947. Others showing promise of mak ing the first six, according to Bartos, are Ben Kilgo, A. J. Smith, Bill Tyson and Hacky Walker. Playoffs to determine the posi tions are still in progress. The Ringers eased by Tenement Z4%, 37-86. Rogers of the Ringet a took scor ing honors with 22 points, while Chakides of Ten. 24% hit for 16. Lynch and King shared runner-up scoring horoors with 14 points each. The RO's won Py protest over Preston, 1-0. Preston's loss re suilted from the use of an ineligible player. The result of the Tuesday night games, Preston vs. Ringers, and Ten. 24% vs. RO's were not re corded because of schedule diffi culties. Games are being played at 7 and 8 o'clock each night in the University high gym and the Field House. The fraternity league piayoffs began Monday night with two gaines being played on the open ing night. Both were close and furnished plenty of excitement. Lambda Chi Alpha led Pi Kappa Phi for the first three quarters to be overtaken and defeated in the last three minutes of play by a score of 26-23. Billy Singleton of the Pi Kaps scored 10 points for individual scoring honors and Chester Wingate of the losers shot eight.
