Aviators Elect Amalie Stone Vice-President Amalie Stone, junior from - Greenville, has been elected vice chairman, of the Southeastern di vision of the Ninety-Nines, inter national women aviators' organi zation. She was elected at the re gional meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sunday, Jan. 18. Miss Stone has been flying for several years, having aoCured her private license in 1944. Last year during the World Student Service Fund campaign on the campus she dropped leaflets over the campus. The depository, accordig tu Mrs. Lennom, is a general catch Medetrina Finishes Two Years As Club For Student Nurses By AUDREY CHAPMAN Medetrina Society is in its sec ond year of existence on the cam pus of the university. It was founded nder the direction of Miss Helen Gonzer,n ssistant di rector of the school of nursing, in February, 1946. Its purpose is to promote interest in the nurs ing profession, to promote high scholarship, and toforward social and curricula activity in the nurs ing school. Any student registered in the school of nursing is eligible for membership. The society's name is featured in Greek my thology. Medetrina, a preserver of health, was the daughter of Apol lo's son Asklepios, "The Blame less Physician."~ Several of the girls have re ceived Medetrina pins. Mrs. Lennom, who is in her seventh year at the university, is assisted by Chester A. Wingate, part time cashier, and admits that the biggest gripe they encounter from the siLudonLs, is paying the dime charge for cashing checks. "One even called me a thief," she chuckled. The depository had an exchange of almost three million dollars last year without an error, and is per manent proof of the efficiency of the mnrger and her aid ii nancial affairs of the students of Carolina.
