Protestation Of" Of 1948" Voiced In regards to the "Leap Year A of 1948" composed by Sid Badgi and Walter Roberts and publishe in The Gamecock last week v have received this protestation. My Dear Sirs: It occurs to me that you me not have studied the consequenc of your act, proposed and publisl ed in The Gamecock, January 9. wish to remind you that said co sequences might have far-reachii and long-lasting effects. To begin with, should this a become law for even as short period as three months, mode: dating customs would be well< the way to a radical change. Has it ever occurred to you th there is a type of femininity, ai by no means the minority grou that would be pleased at t thought of over-throwing the pre ent prevalent system, ie, boy do asking and chasing? An act such as you -prope would not only give body to thi desires, but it would very like start a campaign, that, althoui slow to develop, would one d engulf the university campus, a later the state, growing to il mense proportions.
