Miss Pounds spent a period of two weeks in training at Washington, D. C., where she studied National Educa tion association policies and plans of operation. William Clarence Boyd, Jr., '.9L, of Columbia, recently received his honorable discharge from the Navy after having served for three and a half years as navy liaison officer at the South Carolina State Selective headquarters. M.'s which swept the channel into Tokyo Bay in prep aration for the entry of the Aner ican Fleet.
