LAWLER, Jr. Ah, yes, Spring is in full swing and you know the old saying, "In the springtime a young man's fancy turns to love." Believe me, platoon three of Battalion 2-A-44 is really sticking to this tradition. Every time some breezy little babe crosses their path, it seems as if the right guide, Jeep JONES, runs into a strong headwind and their actual ground speed reduces to zero. Girls, be on the lookout for this exquisite platoon filled with manliness and military bearing. Seriously, tho, we do wish to ex tend our thanks to Capt. N FED HAM for the top ranking Navy dance given on April toth at the city auditorium. "Why don't we do this more often ?'' was the cry of everyone in our platoon, but the Navy says, "All play and no work makes johnny a playboy." This would never mix with Navigation and 1t. i.\ IFFEO'S Recognition classes. The morning following the dance, we drifted dreamily into the later and took our seats. When the I.t. came in, lie looked as fresh as the morning dew and was stariled to see that half our class was asleep. Naturally we received one of our instructors famous speeches oi "I-ow a Navy man should be able to mix night life with regular duty and still carry on as if nothing had happened." I'll have to admit, I don't see how lie does it. Perhaps he is just more salty than we. We were kinda tired that morn ing I lowever, I would like for all the girls to know that when the Battalion dance for 2-A-44 rolls around, we will be right there on deck and waiting, for the best Batt. dance ever held at Colhnbia Prep Flight. So put oi your dancing shoes, and let's dance away our V--> Blues. PLATOON 4 By A/C J. L.
