The Sophomore "Y" Chirstmas party last Tuesday was loads of fun, and it certainly gave everyone who.attended the Christ nmas spirit. Don't fail to see the Wauchope tree. It really adds to the al ready homey atmosphere of the lounge. New Matron . . . Miss Pearl Sweeker, dietician at Steward's hall, has recently been elected as matron for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. She was entertained at a luncheon Tuesday, at Bihari's. Last Saturday the Lambda Chi's took their rushees to the independent's tea dance, a reception after the dance, and later entertained them at a supper party. SAE . . . Newly elected pledge officers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon are: Tommy Ilowell, president; Tom Boyle, vice-president; Bill Wan namaker, secretary; and D. D. Salley, treasurer. Pi Beta Phi . . Pledging was held Monday night at eight o'clock in the room for Betty Jane Hall. Doris McLeod was initiated Wednesday afternoon. A supper in honor of the new initiate was held at HIarvey's after the cere nlony. On Thursday night the Pi Phi's entertained fifteen children from the Carolina Orphanage with a Christmas party. The clil dren found stockings on the tree, and each was given a toy as a gift. Here and There . . Betty Jane Everett and Grace Gayden left Columbia Tues day night to attend Milwec Goldschmidt's wedding in Chatta nooga next week . . . the Dela Zeta's had a Christmas rush party in Sims lounge Wednesday night with the usual holi ,dav trimmings . . . Frances Randall and Pat Salley. KD's, gave a shower for Tan Miller Wednesday afternoon the ZTA's were entertained with a party Thursday night at Mrs. Blears' home, their alumni advisor.
