Freshmen ou were taught how to find books they ad desire in the library, how to care for rig books, and how the library works. k- "History of the University" will be the topic for three class meetings, on November 30, December 14, and Jan uary 4. Lucky (?) lads who wer marooned in the parlors of Sims Col lege made the most of their oppor tunities until candles were lighte< while shouts of "man on the hall chilled and thrilled the hearts of ever co-ed-but it was "only a joke". According to the latest report Carolina's first unpremeditated blac< out caukht all of the co-eds in en barrassing situations. These luck girls who were fixing up for tha big date bathed and dressed in th dark with only the glow of a cigar ette or a birthday candle to heir And all of them definitely decide that never would they go back t the good old days of primping wit the aid of a candle when they sa% the surprised faces of their dates. Some girls blundered their wa down to sorority rooms and plut dered the candles pit up for initin tion. One industrious female con tiued typing by the light of a cau die until shouts from her room-mal warned her that the table was o fire. Business went on as usual in man rooms as co-eds played bridge < knitted by intuition chiefly. Torch< made of paper lighted the steps < many a girl, and cigarettes wet smoked by the carton. Bonfires were lighted in the hall with the accumulated trash froi waste baskets, while other girls d< cided that next to being with a ma in a black-out, the best thing w~ast talk about one.
